Half Man Half Biscuit - Back in the D.H.S.S., 1985
This is a classic album from the UK indie music scene of the mid-1980s.
I received the original vinyl as a Christmas present, c. 1986/87, but the 1988 CD has additional tracks from The Trumpton Riots E.P.
The song lyrics are some of the most inventive, surreal and darkly satirical of any band I know of, and often the music is equally deranged. One of my favourite tracks, I Hate Nerys Hughes, also features on NME’s C86 compilation
( NB: Nerys Hughes was especially lovely in The Liver Birds )
